To perform this job successfully, an individual must have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California . Must have and maintain current BLS and ACLS certification. Must have I.V. Conscious Sedation Competency.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence if required. Able to administer and dispense all medication as required. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be capable of dealing effectively and ethically with co-workers, physicians, and other Hospital personnel. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills.
Under the direction of the Administrative Director of Imaging and Physical Therapy, the Cardiac Cath Lab Director, and in consultation with the Medical Director, the Cath Lab RN is responsible for the oversight of patient assessment and medication administration, including I.V. start and conscious sedation. Is responsible for the assessment, treatment or care appropriate to the ages of the patients served who are undergoing Cardiac Catheterization procedures. Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs. Possesses knowledge of growth and development and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for all patient groups. Able to fulfill each RN function in the department in the absence of other RN staff. Responsible for various clerical and Quality Assurance duties as assigned, including ACC Data Collection and Reporting. Must maintain compliance with rules and regulations as set forth by the governing agencies. Follows AIDET and accepts reassignment and additional duties, when necessary, in a flexible and positive manner.
